The forecast and the toss chose to be on our side for a change.

Having put in Sale 4XI to bat, saw excellent initial economical spells from Tej and Abdullah over the first 10 overs. A peacher from Sumed in the 17th over results in the first breakthrough followed by a breathtaking catch by Tej off Chris. Some tight bowling from Rayan results in another wicket before the Sale batters decide to cut lose only to lose wickets consistently to Waqar and Alfie to get to a par total of 182/7 in 40 overs. Could have been less if a few outside canches were converted. But the Timperley ground fielding remains tight throughout.

A watchful start from Michael and Ashmit sees off the first 10 overs before Ashmit falls for 8. Then a 61 runs partnership for the 2nd wicket see off Sale’s best bowlers before Michael departs for 23. This brings Tej to the crease and another onslaughts commences from Waqaar in continuation of his innings against Bowdon. Waqar gets his 50 in 45 balls and then clean hits the next 28 to get to his 2nd century for the 6s team and a win, with excellent support from Tej for an unbeaten 106 runs stand .
