

The 2nd XI grasped a Cup finals day slot with a tense 1 run victory on the road at Stockport Georgians in a low scoring affair.
Winning the toss and batting first Timperley were in trouble early doors with both openers back in the hutch at 2 for 2. A recovery was started by Parmer and Rob Matthews moving the score to 24 before Matthews fell for 13. Parmer remained resolute and went on to score 53 before being out to the last ball of the innings at 130. He hit 7 fours and 1 six in his innings and was well supported by Birtles (15) and Tom Matthews (19). The pick of the Georgians bowling being provided by Wall with 3 for 26 off his 4 over allocation.
In reply Georgians also met with early difficulty and reached 13 for 2. This brought Hussain and Shah together and they rebuilt the innings with a 48 run 3rd wicket partnership before Hussain was stumped off Dash for 25. Shah played the key innings for the Georgians hitting 62 off 52 deliveries including 5 fours and 1 six. Unfortunately for the Georgians he fell at 118 for 7 and the lower order were unable to score the 13 needed for victory falling one short. The Timperley bowling was consistent with the Timperley captain Khan, claiming 3 for 16 off his allocation with his spin.
This exciting victory leads Timperley to Grappenhall for the finals day on August 31st. Other semi-finalists are Didsbury, Chester Boughton Hall and Grappenhall.
