The crest fallen skipper was reflecting on his team's worst showing of the season - a ten wicket mauling by the home side who have now leapfrogged Timperley into third place.
For the first time in living memory, the visitors in form bowlers got no wickets at all - an unprecedented stat.
Galley said:
"On such a very hot day, we were thankful to win the toss and elected to bat. Even with losing Viraj Sorathia early, we made a good start and set a great platform to post a strong score. Freddie Vaughan Hawkins impressed again with 69 off 86 balls against a strong home attack."
He went on: "With us at 116-3 at the halfway stage, we’d have been hopeful of posting a big score but unfortunately regular wickets and some tight disciplined bowling from the Nantwich spinners ended up restricting us to a still competitive 224."
"While we would have wanted a few more runs on the board, 224 was more than enough to defend. Unfortunately it was a day to forget in the field. We just didn’t really turn up at any point or put Nantwich under any pressure. With numerous misfields, some loose bowling, a general lack of energy in the field, and some strong aggressive home batting, we were dominated and they chased down our total for the loss of no wickets in just 28 overs."
"It was a thoroughly disappointing day. Now it’s all about how we respond. Bad days happen, but we’ve got to work hard in training and show up with much better intensity and energy for our trip away to Neston next Saturday...and there must not be any complacency considering their lowly position."
Top scorer Freddie wasn't the only member of his family putting in a star showing. His 14 year old brother James notched a hatrick midweek but it wasn't enough as the youngsters were narrowly beaten by Bowdon.
Meanwhile the lacklustre Timperley seconds lost at home to Chester Boughton Hall by eight wickets.
Skipper Shahnawaz Khan criticised slow batting - and poor motivation amongst the bowlers.
He thought self critical Tom Matthews did a good job with a top score of 38. The home tally of 191 was however easily overtaken by the visitors with ten overs to go.
"It’s tough when we are chopping and changing the team but there were some positives" said the demanding ultra competitive captain.
The big winner over the weekend was however the organisers of the annual Bollywood Bash...around £2,000 was raised for club funds as more than a hundred bopped the night away at the clubhouse.
