"Paceman" Page, having recently turned 36, put his recent disciplinary troubles behind him to record excellent figures of 6 for 51 from 16 overs.
A fired up Page reduced Bowdon to 130 all out in their chase to overtake a modest target of just 151 from the visitors in front of a packed house at South Downs Road, where Timperley outnumbered the home support significantly.
His man of the match performance plus three superb catches from skipper Ed Galley, ex Altrincham goalkeeper Ollie Byrne and fast emerging teenage Cheshire wicket keeper Freddie Vaughan-Hawkins means that Timperley have given themselves a massive boost in their battle to avoid relegation from the Premier Division.
Afterwards Page came up with a wry smile when asked how he was going to celebrate. He said: "I just might have the odd drink. They are singing silly celebratory songs in the dressing room but I’m having none of it!"
Skipper Galley said: "It’s great to see Pagey back to doing what he does best. He kept his cool and concentrated on the job in hand."
Timperley's batting honours went to Jonathan Fletcher who chipped in with 40 but as the skipper said later their score could only be described as mediocre….. but was thanks to Page's heroics he was able to see Timperley through to a memorable victory.
For Byrne this game marked his last on a Saturday for the club as he's returned to his day job after signing for FC United in the Northern Premier League.
Larger than life Byrne - a cricketing teenage prodigy before opting for a career in football with Manchester United's academy - became an instant hit at his local cricket club this summer quickly establishing himself in the Timperley first team on his return to the game.
Meanwhile the seconds for once didn’t win yet stayed top of the table, against a strong Didsbury team. The day will be long remembered as teenage star of the future Dylan Parekh yet again got in the 90s but failed to make it a century.
The explosive Cheshire county batsman was still looking on the bright side when he said: "It’s always a daft shot that gets me. Hopefully I will get to a hundred before too long."
The second team posted a highly creditable 232, but that target was overtaken with two overs to go despite four wickets for 28 for Jaskaran Cheema.
Another huge weekend of Cricket down at Stockport Road this coming weekend, with the 1st XI hosting a crunch match against Chester Boughton Hall - whilst both sides are competing at the opposite ends of the table, Timperley have proven to be something of a bogey team for CBH over the recent seasons in the Prem. Another upset this weekend would leave Galley and his boys buoyant going into the second round of Win/Lose cricket to take us to the end of the season.
