The 18 year old wicket keeper heaped praise on the club's Aussie ace Dan Scholz.
Freddie, celebrating the end of his exams, said batting with the overseas opener, who was 113 not out, was a "joy."
Freddie said: "On a personal note it was great to be back amongst the runs and contributing towards a much needed 24 points."
Thanks to the high-scoring pair the chase wasn't in doubt after the visitors, who are bottom of the table, had been pegged to 233/8.
Another of the club's bright sparks. teenage spinner Aryan Dash picked up a four-wicket haul for 60 runs - a performance hailed by admiring skipper Ed Galley.
He said: "It was magnificent that two of our youngest players did so well...both Aryan and Freddie are homegrown. Then we had a brilliant innings from Dan who is the top run scorer in the league. We can't wait for Saturday at home against Neston when I'm expecting another bumper crowd and we can make it two league wins on the bounce."
The morale-boosting triumph was in sharp contrast to the woes for the second team who went down at lowly Widnes having posted 183 in 33 overs.
There were some frank exchanges of views in the away dressing room after which skipper Shahnawaz said was a "little bit of frustration...understandable after a disappointing defeat."
The captain blamed the team being unable to establish substantial partnerships with Widnes producing a successful, controlled run chase losing losing just two wickets.
