All change at Timperley cricket club with two star men on the move

Tim Reynolds, the larger than life overseas player signed off in style before heading back to his Aussie homeland.

While making a much shorter journey to join rivals Upton on the Wirral is Nathan Brown after 20 colourful years at Stockport Road.

And both stared in their final home game for Timperley who beat Oxton in their penultimate match of the season.

Big hitting Reynolds slammed 129 as Timperley piled up 267 runs...and then spinner Brown took four wickets as the visitors fell 20 runs short.

Timperley skipper Ed Galley said Reynolds put the Oxton change bowlers under great pressure with some huge boundaries.

Galley said: "It was another display of dominant batting, and a memorable farewell performance."

"After Tim’s heroics, it was time for another legend to step up once again ... Nathan Brown. He ultimately won us the game in front of a bumper crowd."

Each wicket was celebrated like it was his last and it was a great pleasure to see one of Timperley’s finest contributors on and off the pitch lead his side to victory one last time at Stockport Road.

What followed was a emotional presentation to Brown celebrating his contributions and efforts to the club with a framed scorecard of his best figures of 7-14 against Didsbury and a signed shirt from the 1XI. Nathan leaves the club sitting in the top ten run scorers and wickets takers for the 1XI and having been chairman, 1XI captain, junior organiser, and various other roles and responsibilities. His efforts and contributions will be sorely missed.

Galley added : "Another emotional farewell goes to Reynolds, whose contributions and impact goes further than the staggering 938 runs and four centuries he’s scored this season Tim has added so much value to the club with his coaching, professional approach on the pitch and in training and ultimately as a bloke. He has made some great friends and his infectious and fun personality has added so much to the dressing room and the clubhouse!"

Meanwhile the Timperley seconds were also celebrating thanks in the main to well established batsman Felix Birtles (80) and Jordan Ruff (72) who helped chalk up 312 for seven at Hyde.

The home side ended on 275 all out and afterwards skipper Shahnawaz Khan praised the blend of youth and experience in his winning team.
