8. Seven wickets (or more) in an innings

The first recorded instance of a bowler taking 7 wickets for Timperley was by a Mr. J.Morrison on August 1st 1879 against Mobberley.

The 7 wicket parameter for this record reflects its rarity and is seemingly getting more difficult to achieve as wicket quality improves. Historically this was achieved more frequently and the leading exponent was Jim Cookson who played for Timperley in the 1880's and early 1890's and he achieved this feat 25 times before departing to play at Sale CC where he became one of their early stalwarts.
