It was a much changed XI that showed at Ladybridge for the end of season dead rubber to fix some sort of mid table position for both teams. With much unavailability in the squad youngsters Aseri & Jaipuryar made their debut for the team.
Bhatti made the correct call on the toss and decided it was best to chase. Ladybridge openers Sayers & Thomlinson started confidently and took the score to 23 before they were separated with Thomlinson knicking off to the keeper for 10. Mathew followed quickly thereafter bowled by Buhmanpalli for 2. This bought Massey to the crease and he played well for a bright, chancy 26. Sayers was out caught behind off Tharcasmani for 21 before Massey holed out to deep mid wicket off Aseri with Khan holding a good catch.
Timperleys bowlers kept up the pressure on the Ladybridge middle order and backed up by some good fielding (including a great tumbling catch by Iveson at short square leg) were able to whittle through the order to dismiss Ladbyridge for 143 in the final over. Aseri bowling well to take 3 for 40 off 8 overs.
In reply Bhatti batted as if he needed to be home for six o'clock clubbing a 19 ball 28 in conjunction with the more patient Carr. Bhatti was out to a great caught and bowled by Tayyab to bring Rizvi in for a 1 ball cameo before missing a straight one off Khan. This allowed Kabir the opportunity to play his swansong innings for the 2021 season and he did not disappoint, hitting 53 all round the wicket before disbelievingly dragging on to Hodgson. Prior to that Carr had been well caught down the leg side for 22 off Hooton.
This left Fisher & Sajja to score the 20 or so needed to win the game which was duly achieved in the 29th over for a comfortable 6 wicket win.
