Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No - it's Super(Us)man...

Left to their own devices in the Captains absence, the team struggled to get everything sorted in advance of the match with both Fisher & Bangee failing in finding the scoreboard controller. Ker-ching! Haroon did win the toss, just as the captain arrived and decided to bat on a cool day perfect for cricket.

Carr and debutant Mushtaq laboured at first against the Wilmslow opening bowlers before Mushtaq employed some Bhattiesque technique to smash a four and a big six to get the scoreboard moving. They took the score to 31 when Carr was out, cleaned up by the first change bowler for 9. Mushtaq followed soon thereafter, well caught on the straight boundary for 17 to make it 35 for 2. Usman joined Bilal and they settled into a near 50 run partnership to repair the damage. Bilal was then caught out for 15 to bring Iveson to the crease. He scored five in singles, taking two strides for every one of his captain at the other end before being bowled.

It was then Fishers turn and he supported the now well set Usman in a 53 run partnership that should have been more if Fisher had not missed a tranche of buffet 4 balls served to him. Fisher was then out Lbw for 25 trying to work to leg to give Usman the strike. Tayyab (and his untidy beard) then had a go and died in the deep at mid-on for 7 trying to push the score on. Waseem came to the crease and decided that he would try and run his Captain out off the first ball he faced. Usman was having none of it and Waseem returned to the clubhouse without troubling the scorer. 162 for 7.

Usman then worked with Thacasmani & Bangee to close out the innings at 188 for 8, hitting 9 4's & 2 6's in a well played 84 ball 80 not out.

In reply, the Wilmslow innings was always under the control of the Timperley attack. Tayyab beat the bat repeatedly in his opening spell and was unlucky to only take 1 wicket in the innings by the close. Waseem shook off the rust to take 3 for 28 off 7 in an impressive spell that improved the more he bowled. The star of the show though was Usman bowling his stock inswinger to claim 4 for 7 off 6. The highlight, from a fielding perspective, was a superbly judged catch at deep square leg by Abdullah to dismiss Bharat for a well played 31 just as he was loking to open up.

Wilmslow were all out for 116 for Timperley to claim the victory.
