Update from the closed season in preparation for 2019

The 2019 season is quickly approaching, so we just wanted to summarise some of the progress over the closed season and plans for 2019.

1) Captains
1st XI- Nathan Brown
2nd XI- Richard Page
3rd XI- Vipul Garg
4th XI- Felix Birtles
5th XI- Jurjees Hasan

2) Extraordinary General Meeting- 28th March 2018
In summary, we are looking to change the structure of the club to a Community Benefit Society. This will give us several benefits and it is really important, because as a member we will become shareholders in the club.

The EGM is the 28th March 2019 @ 19:30 in the clubhouse. Please make every effort to attend, support the section and have your vote counted.

There is also an informal drop in session to ask questions about this at the clubhouse on 20th March @ 19:30- 21:00.

3) Cricket Force

Cricket Force 2019 is likely to be on the weekend of the 30-31st March - this will be confirmed shortly- but of course it goes without saying that everyones support would be hugely appreciated.

4) Season Dates
League fixtures begin April 20th for the majority of teams.
5th XI league fixtures begin on the 12th May due tot he bank holidays and easter being cup fixtures.

5) Annual Subscriptions
Heads up that the key date this year will be the 1st May 2019

Subscriptions are the same rate as last year (£170 adults, £85 students/unemployed/those attracting sponsors). Once again you can pay online or behind the bar at the club.

We are asking to have the full balance or at least an agreed payment plan in place by the 1st May- we have no objection if people would like to split the costs over a few months- please contact your captains or Gary Fisher to discuss if you have any issues.

I know we sound like stuck records- but unpaid subscriptions can leave the section out of pocket and in a difficult situation- so please be prompt with payments this year so we can avoid any issues.

6) Social Events
There are several ideas in the pipeline, with the hope of at least one event per month. There is likely to be an event on the opening weekend of the season (details to be confirmed shortly), and of course with the Cricket World Cup this year something centred around this in July.

All ideas are welcome- so please contact the committee if you have anything in particular you would like to see at the club.
